This timber was milled from local Street tree timber. So waste timber put to good use. The Tree was a London Plane Tree. Similar to Maple (I think). Very light colour, with some [oaky] flecking.
There is a bit of a process getting timber to this stage. The tree was felled some time ago. Milled and racked. Then kiln dried. Three pieces from the same log have been jointed together to make one. Planed, sanded and a light lacquer to seal the wood. All of this over around two years.
Anyway this one is ready to go as a narrow table top. It measures, 2.2m long, 660 to 750mm wide and 38mm thick.
